“Did I offer peace today? Did I bring a smile to someone’s face? Did I say words of healing? Did I let go of my anger and resentment? Did I forgive? Did I love? These are the real questions. I must trust that the little bit of love that I sow now will bear many fruits, here in this world and the life to come.”
LOVE. That is the centerpiece of our ministry and work. Love is everything! Remembering the words of Paul. "And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing." 1 Cor. 13:2
God has called us to love other people. And although we are going to show God's love in a practical way by serving and treating people's physical needs, it is not enough just to do good things for others. What we DO must come from an overflow of love. How can we love others? Because loving complete strangers isn't something that comes naturally. You're right, it isn't natural...rather, it's SUPERNATURAL!
We can lavish love upon others when we ourselves are awash and immersed in the deep abiding love of our Savior. When you and I truly know and deeply experience the TRUTH that God completely and wholeheartedly loves you and that He delights and rejoices in YOU, that will fill you up to be able to freely love others. When we look heavenward and sink our hearts into the truth and the meaning of the gospel towards us, we can and will be able to then look outward and generously love others. So remember today, that you are a deeply loved child of the King!
